An amazing indian street food.

Ingredients

  • 500 gr. potatoes
  • 100 gr. peas fresh or frozen

for the filling

  • 1/4 tsp red pepper
  • 1/2 tsp lemon juice
  • 1/4 tsp ginger
  • salt

for the potato mixture

  • 1/2 tsp red pepper
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • salt
  • 1 tbsp oat flour
  • 1 tbsp corn flour

Instructions

  • Start by boiling the potatoes along with the peas. This will take you around 20-30 minutes. Drain. Let the potatoes cool.
  • In a bowl mash the peas with a fork and add red pepper, lemon juice, ginger and salt. Set aside.
  • Mix the potatoes with the oats, corn flour, red pepper, turmeric, lemon juice, cumin and salt. Make a homogeneous mixture.
  • Divide it in 8 pieces.
  • Make 8 potato cups and in each cup put 1 tbsp. pea mixture. Close each cup and form a ball.
  • Then press the balls to make them more like burgers.
  • Bake for a few minutes in a non-stick pan with a little olive oil or in the oven for 20 minutes in 180C. At 10 minutes turn the aloo tikki.
  • Serve with salad and sauce of your choice. I personally made an Indian raita which is, I would say, the Indian answer to our tzatziki.
