Start by boiling the potatoes along with the peas. This will take you around 20-30 minutes. Drain. Let the potatoes cool.
In a bowl mash the peas with a fork and add red pepper, lemon juice, ginger and salt. Set aside.
Mix the potatoes with the oats, corn flour, red pepper, turmeric, lemon juice, cumin and salt. Make a homogeneous mixture.
Divide it in 8 pieces.
Make 8 potato cups and in each cup put 1 tbsp. pea mixture. Close each cup and form a ball.
Then press the balls to make them more like burgers.
Bake for a few minutes in a non-stick pan with a little olive oil or in the oven for 20 minutes in 180C. At 10 minutes turn the aloo tikki.
Serve with salad and sauce of your choice. I personally made an Indian raita which is, I would say, the Indian answer to our tzatziki.
