Cabbage Balls In the Oven

Divine oven meatballs that you will love to eat.

Ingredients

for the cabbage balls

  • 3 cup shredded cabbage
  • 1 tsp chilli
  • salt
  • ginger
  • garlic
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 3 tbsp corn flour

for the sauce

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 3 tbsp tomato sauce or ketchup
  • 2 tbsp vinegar
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 4-5 garlic cloves
  • 1 onion
  • 4-5 tbsp water
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp chilli
  • 1 tbsp corn flour (+ 2 tbsp water)

Instructions 

  • Start by preparing the vegetable meatballs. Pulse the cabbage in a food processor. Transfer to a thin towel and drain to remove excess liquid.
  • Mix the cabbage with the flour, corn flour and spices. Something like minced meat will be created.
  • Form meatballs and bake in a preheated oven at 180C for 20-25 minutes. Halfway through the time turn your meatballs.
  • Remove from the oven and let your meatballs cool. Put the meatballs in the fridge for 1-2 hours.
  • Prepare your sauce. In a bowl, mix the soy sauce, ketchup, and vinegar. Pour the olive oil into a deep pan.
  • Add the garlic and chopped onion. Save for a few minutes. Pour in the soy sauce mixture.
  • Add the water too.
  • In a bowl, mix the corn flour with the 2 tbsp. water until the corn flour is dissolved.
  • Pour the mixture into the pan. Stir for 1-2 minutes. Throw in the meatballs.
  • Stir for 1-2 minutes and add fresh onion. Your cabbage balls are ready.
