When I was little, my mother used to make baked potatoes very often, those classic, very tasty ones that we rarely eat at my house anymore. So I remembered them, and decided to make them.

Personally, I have used to make baked potatoes like french fries (like here and here) but these classic potatoes are also amazing.

INGREDIENTS AND SUBSTITUTIONS

Potatoes: It doesn't matter what potatoes you will use.

Vegetable stock: If it doesn't have vegetable stock, you can use plain water, but the stock will definitely make your potatoes even tastier.

Olive oil: Unfortunately, in this recipe we can not add olive oil. It is necessary to make baked potatoes classic, like mom's and grandma's.

Lemon juice: We will need juice from one lemon.

Garlic: For me garlic is also essential. If you can't do it at all, you can just skip it.

The classic recipe of my mom and grandma.

Ingredients

  • 6 potatoes sliced into wedges
  • 1,5 cup vegetable stock
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/3 cup olive oil
  • 1 lemon juice
  • 7 garlic cloves
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp oregano
  • black pepper

Instructions 

  • All you have to do is mix all the ingredients in a bowl.
  • Put your potatoes in a pan and pour the mixed ingredients on top.
  • Roast in preheated oven in 200 C for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
  • Halfway through the cooking time, take juice from the pan with a spoon and pour it over your potatoes. Continue roasting.
  • Your potatoes are ready.
