This chinese street food burger is super delicious!

Those of you who have been following me for a long time will have understood that I really like to try new flavors from different countries of the world. So, since I love what we used to call "street food", this time I made something that is usually offered and eaten in the streets of China.

It's called… rou jia mo and its taste is reminiscent of burger but for me it is even tastier. The buns are made and baked very easily and the filling is up to you.
Προσωπικά επέλεξα να βάλω κιμά σόγιας, μια coleslaw, κόκκινη πιπεριά και φρέσκα κρεμμυδάκια και λίγη σπιτική vegan μαγιονέζα (μπορείτε να will find the recipe here). Εσείς μπορείτε να γεμίσετε τα rou jia mo σας με ό,τι εσείς θέλετε.

How many calories does rou jia mo have? Each bun without the filling that is large enough has 333 calories.

The divine rou jia mo that you must try
Ingredients
for the buns
for the filling
- 400 gr. minced soy
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 250 gr. tomato sauce
- black pepper
- salt
- ginger
- 3 garlic cloves
- 1/2 onion
- 1/2 red pepper
- 2 spring onions
- 3 tbsp vegan mayo
Instructions
- Start by mixing hot water with dry yeast in a bowl. In another bowl, mix the flour, baking powder and olive oil.
- Pour the water with the yeast into the flour mixture. Mix and make a ball of dough with your hands. Cover with a towel and set aside for 30 minutes.
- Uncover and knead for 5 minutes until your dough is soft.
- Cut into 4 pieces. Using the rolling pin, open 4 round buns.
- In a non-stick pan or wok, after pouring a little olive oil, bake the buns one by one. Bake each bun for 2 minutes on each side.
- Open each bun in half (do not cut it to the end) and put in whatever you want.
- To make the soy minced meat, heat 1 tbsp. olive oil in a pan. Add the chopped onion and garlic as soon as the oil heats up. Saute lightly and add the soy minced meat. Add the tomato sauce. Add salt, black pepper and ginger. Cook the minced soy and set aside.
- Fill each bun with salad of your choice (I used coleslaw), minced soy, red pepper and spring onions and a little mayonnaise. Enjoy.
